Wish Chain’s First Greeting

Hello, everyone! The Wish Chain team is excited to come out from the shadows and reveal ourselves to the world. Today, we are here to tell you a little about our project called Wish Chain. In our post today, we will be introducing to you our vision and how we plan to turn that vision into something real. Let’s go ahead and begin!

Wish Chain’s Vision

The founders of Wish Chain have been watching blockchain and cryptocurrencies for a while now, and we have been seeking ways to speed up adoption of blockchain in our everyday lives. We discovered we could accomplish this by connecting online to offline through blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies, and the opportunity came as we won the bid for Seoul Metro’s Future Station business. In short, Wish Chain is a blockchain project that will bridge the gap between the online and offline to allow users to buy and sell products and services in the real economy through blockchain technology and Future Stations.

Online and Offline Become One Through Blockchain

Before we delve into how Wish Chain connects online to offline, it is important to know what online and offline mean. Online refers to Wish Chain’s blockchain network that connects us all digitally. The blockchain network is transparent, open to participation by anyone, efficient, and resistant to attacks. It possesses all the benefits of blockchain technology.

Through this network, people are able to exchange value by buying and selling goods and services or exchanging tokens. The network has limited third party intervention and has its own token structure and economy that allows for quick payments. Also on the blockchain network are data, which are exchanged between buyers and sellers who mutually agree upon giving and receiving data for a more customized digital experience for users.

This online part is required for a healthy Wish Chain ecosystem. In addition to the online side of things, we need an offline location where people can utilize the online network.

A preliminary sketch of Wish Chain’s Future Station

These offline spaces are Future Stations and their Digital Hubs. Instead of people going to a specific location to utilize the Wish Chain network, we bring the network to places people pass through in their daily lives. At these physical locations, people enjoy different digital content to earn and spend tokens, purchase goods at cafes and convenience stores, and in the process of doing these activities, exchange data. It is at these places that people make use of the blockchain network built by the Wish Chain team.

Let take a look at an example of how this works. Say I play a VR game created by one of the sellers. I receive Wish Stone tokens (this will be explained later), with which I purchase a cup of coffee from a cafe in one of the Future Stations. I am buying offline, but I am simultaneously utilizing the online network.

Thanks to Wish Chain, the future no longer consists of a disconnected online and offline ecosystem. Now, they will work hand in hand to give people the opportunity to touch and experience blockchain in their everyday lives.
